Powering progress: electric forklifts at Edzell
Peterson Edzell has added four new electric forklifts to its fleet as part of the company’s commitment to achieving net zero.
With this latest investment 15 of the site’s 19 forklifts are now electric, complementing an existing electric fleet that includes six electric vans and a flatbed truck.
Bill Blair, Edzell Operations Manager, said: Alongside other initiatives such as alternative fuels, solar panels and energy-efficient property solutions, these changes demonstrate our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact while improving safety and efficiency across the business. Together, they reflect a practical, long-term commitment to sustainability – investing in cleaner transport that delivers real environmental benefits while supporting safer, more efficient operations.”
The remaining diesel forklift units at Edzell will be replaced later this year, resulting in a fully electric forklift fleet. All vehicles will be under five years old and compliant with hours-run requirements.
Edzell also operates an electric trike, improving efficiency and reducing emissions when travelling across the site’s seven miles of internal roads.
