Peterson’s Edzell site celebrates 25th anniversary
Peterson Energy Logistics’ 120-acre storage facility in Edzell, Angus, has celebrated a quarter of a century servicing clients in the energy sectors.
The former American military base is home to 11 warehouses, as well as 300,000m2 of external storage.
A celebration was held with the site’s 35 team members to recognise the milestone and congratulate them on their strong track record of safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
Sarah Moore, Chief Executive at Peterson, said:
“This is an incredible milestone. This is a site that is always moving, always evolving, with a dedicated, committed team that truly care about the safety of themselves and their colleagues, the impact they have on the environment, and how they can go the extra mile for our customers.
“A lot has changed in the past 25 years, and we look forward to the future of this site with great ambition.”
There are more than 20 companies which use Edzell to store critical resources for the energy industry from lifeboats to pipes and washing machines to safety suits, as well as a range of critical energy parts and resources.
Bill Blair, Operations Manager who manages the Edzell site, said:
“We’re incredibly proud of what we do here at Edzell and are a strong and connected team. It’s great to look back and take a moment to see how far we’ve come.”
Pete Slavin, Materials Controller, is the longest serving employee at Edzell having joined the team 19 years ago. He added:
“It’s changed a lot in the 19 years, but it’s stayed a good place to work.”
The Americans set up a military base at Edzell during the Second World War and didn’t leave the site until 1997. Peterson now uses the former military hangars for storage and has also built five new warehouses. There remains a mothballed bowling alley, barbers, post-office and gas station from when the American military established the site.
