Peterson to provide aviation services for Vestas at Ecowende
Leading logistics and supply chain solutions provider Peterson Energies will provide aviation service for Vestas for the Hollandse Kust West VI (Ecowende) development in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.
The integrated scope, delivered from Den Helder, includes check-in management, freight management, flight booking, and coordination and provision of survival equipment including personal protective equipment (PPE) for flights to and from Van Oord’s Boreas offshore wind installation vessel, which is currently operating for Vestas at the Ecowende project site. As Ecowende’s wind turbine supplier, Vestas is responsible for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the 52 wind turbines for the wind farm.
Peterson’s digital capabilities are key in successfully delivering this scope with its Lighthouse software suite playing a critical role. Lighthouse’s newly revamped Air application provides real-time visibility of flights, passengers and PPE in a single system, with built-in controls that prevent unsafe or non-compliant equipment from being issued.
Mark Hol, Managing Director Netherlands at Peterson Energies, said:
Securing this opportunity with Vestas reflects our proven delivery capability in the offshore wind sector and the trust customers place in our aviation expertise.
“Our commitment to customers is to provide more than a service, unburdening them with reliable, safe, and consistent solutions which combine operational expertise and digital insight for measurable outcomes which support operational continuity and efficiency.”
Peterson Energies is deeply connected to the Southern North Sea’s offshore wind sector, operating from strategic bases including Den Helder, IJmuiden, Eemshaven, and Rotterdam in the Netherlands, as well as Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft in the UK, providing support to a number of industry-critical projects.
Colleagues in the company’s Control Union division are also working with Vestas to conduct annual statutory inspections on work equipment and safety systems across its offshore wind portfolio, demonstrating the company’s connectedness as a supply chain partner to the industry.
Peterson Energies is part Royal Peterson and Control Union, a Dutch family-owned company which operates globally.
