Peterson Energies partners with Lancaster food charity

Heysham Eggcup Ribbon Cutting

Peterson Energies has provided funding to support the move of local Lancaster food redistribution charity Eggcup to a new location.

Eggcup was forced to leave its previous premises earlier this year following a partial wall collapse and has now found a home at Euston Road near the Arndale Centre. The charity facilitates the distribution of over 1700 food collections every month, collecting and delivering surplus food to eight food clubs across the district on a weekly basis.

Mike Webster, Eggcup Chair, said:

Our transition to the Euston Road base, which was generously supported by Peterson Energies, has ensured that Eggcup can continue its vital mission across the district. Our organisation remains dedicated to preventing surplus food from going to waste and providing essential logistical support to deliver food to those most in need within the community.”

Paul Copsey, Business Manager for Peterson Energies in Heysham, joined local MP Lizzi Collinge and the Mayor and Mayoress of Lancaster for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the facility. He said:

As a business that is well established in the region, we are pleased to be able to invest in organisations which are making a difference in our communities and we’re proud to have helped make the relocation possible. It’s clear to see the positive impact the new facility will have on the Eggcup team and the families they support throughout Lancaster.”
